The Competition House of the future is an invitation from The Dubai Government alongside with Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment and Mohammed bin Rashid center for government innovation in partnership with Buildner architecture competition. organizers to design a revolutionary, new age, innovative house, suited to the needs of Emiratis living in Dubai.
The House of the Future competition looks to update and revolutionize the way in which the Dubai government offers housing to its citizens. One important requirement to meet is, that the house should not exceed the budget of 1 million Emirati Dirhams, land size no larger than 450 m2. and recommended total building floor area of 300 m2.
To substantiate the proposal of the present architectural project we consider the following actions regarding the study area of the United Arab Emirates including de city of Dubai.
To study the Culture, History, traditions, populations, climate, social and politics, aspects, economy, Dubai building code, action taken and guidelines from the UAE Ministry of public works (Ministry of Infrastructure Development) including the Mohammed bin Rashid "Dubai Urban Strategic Plan 2040“.
One of Plan’s primary goals are to plan vibrant and healthy communities with a range of housing and core facilities. According to the Dubai Statistics Centre, the supply of apartments and villas in Dubai amounts to 690,498 units in 2020, serving 3.4 million residents of the city.
Experts estimate that Dubai will require between 483,000 and 550,000 additional residential units over the next two decades to accommodate 5.4 million people in 2040. This equates to the need for between 24,150 and 27,500 new units per year.
The sustainable architectural proposal of the house of the future for Emiratis families that we present today fits in with the quality, value, and significance of historical and modern UAE. Including the Emiratis cultural elements that are important for them to have in a house (Luxury vs. necessity) and providing “Cozy and welcome dream home”.
This is how "The Pearl”. House of the future was born in Dubai today.
■ Among the most important elements of the design that we are proposing, for the construction of “THE PEARL” in Dubai, is undoubtedly its system of generating energy through its wind turbine and combined solar panels at the same time.
Being a new way to produce it’s own energy with a range of 10 kw per day. Making this house with a systems developed to efficiently take advantage of natural and material resources. Guaranteeing a clean, economic and ecological operation to generate goods and services necessary for the development of the daily life of its inhabitants
